Kamananui River Table

5,500.00
sold out

Kamananui in Hawaiian means the wide path. I've spent the last ten years working to restore the lands above Kamananui River in Waimea Valley. When the rains come, the river can at times, consume the whole valley floor. The flood plain is massive, reaching far beyond its river banks when the big rains come.

The inspiration behind this piece is based on my close admiration and respect for rivers. The similarities between life and rivers are endless.

This table is made form a Yellow Poinciana slab from Haleiwa with stone inlays of crushed turquoise and blue tempered glass. A smooth satin finish keeps the "land" from shining as the "water" lends to the reflection of light.  This table may look delicate but it was made to be used.  We have 3 year old twin boys and everything we make is with that in mind.  The top is coated with marine grade spar urethane.  No coaster are needed for your cold or hot drinks.  The tempered blue glass is 3x harder than normal glass. Crushed turquoise details can be seen in photos.  This will surely be a conversation piece. Contact us about shipping.
